Following the trend (Environmental change)

Explain the evolution of uniform urban landscapes; the effects of common commercial activity, structures, styles of construction and infrastructure.

During late 20th century, every street had different unique type of shops, with different brands. In London, high streets had different types of shops such as butcher's shop, bakeshop, jewelry shop, etc.  each shops were owned by individuals. However, nowadays, after different brands exported from abroad, all the streets show uniformity as in shops, such as Mc Donald's, KFC, Taco Bell, Uniqlo.

In my opinion, since globalization, as different brands became famous specially clothing shops like Uniqlo, CK, etc. people's (consumers) mind changed that their stereotype is good brands show pride and showy to others. Because of that, the non-brand shops had to close because they cannot earn money due to lack of customers. People nowadays call those streets with uniformity as clone streets because they look all the same. Not only the shops became uniform, the construction methods also became the same the reason is to follow the trend of the street, if the color of the street is red, then the color of the shop will be red. Although for some shops like Mc Donald's they have their own construction method which looks like a mansion.
